Unusual WH (Heeres or Waffen-SS) silver-greyish-coloured, zinc-based and 'woolen backed' so-called: M43-cap-badge (ie. 'Mützenabzeichen') depicting an: 'Edelweiss'-flower as was used by the various 'Gebirgsjäger'-related divisional-staff
This is a very attractive - and I deem just moderately used- and/or worn! - example of a WH (Heeres ie. Waffen-SS) greyish-coloured and typical zinc- (ie. 'Feinzink'-) based so-called: M43-cap-badge (ie. 'Mützenabzeichen') depicting an: 'Edelweiss'-flower as was used by the various 'Gebirgsjäger'- (ie. mountain-troops-) related divisional-staff throughout the war. The piece - which is executed in (typical) zinc-based metal and having a separately attached, golden-toned and/or also 'Feinzink'-based 'core' - has been period 'backed' with two pieces of black-coloured wool (as can be seen on the pictures). The badge is a tiny bit stained but was never cleaned nor polished. Simply a great occasion to acquire a 100% original 'Gebirgsjäger'-related and truly WH (Heeres) or even Waffen-SS-related cap-badge for a competitive price. Just the first such neat and rarely found item I ever had on offer!
