'Eisernes Kreuz II. Klasse' being a maker- (ie. '40'-) marked example that comes together with its original- and clearly once-mounted ribbon (ie. 'Bandabschnitt') as was produced by the maker (ie. 'Hersteller'): 'Berg & Nolte'

The truly attractive piece - which was surely issued and/or hardly worn! - came together with its folded and/or never confectioned and confectioned (and approx. 16 cms. long-sized-) ribbon (ie. 'Bandabschnitt'). The cross - which shows a clear makers'-designation '40' stamped into its ring (as can be seen on the pictures) - was with certainty never cleaned and has a very nice and/or truly attractive age-patina: it also retains (almost) all of its so-called: 'hochpolierte Kanten' (or: polished sides) and is truly void of any darkened tarnish or alike: the cross is simply very nicely preserved (as can be seen on the pictures). The cross has a very nicely preserved, black-finished (ie. somewhat 'matted'-) core: it is totally void of any damage or paint-loss and has been nicely preserved (as can be seen on the pictures). The piece is just a tiny bit dusty and/or stained but was never cleaned nor polished. The cross is an evident specimen that was produced by the maker: 'Berg & Nolte' as based in the town of Lüdenscheid (ie. 'Hersteller 40'): it has very nice and/or pronounced detail as to be expected for a cross by this desirable maker. The IC was recently found at a German private-household and was never before in collectors'-hands. Simply a superb, maker-marked 'EK II. Klasse' that will be very hard to be upgraded!
