Interesting, mid-war-period WH (Luftwaffe-, Heeres etc.-) related, hand-engraved and copper-based 'souvenir'- (ie. cigarette) lighter depicting a detailed statue and showing the engraved text: 'Kiew 1943'
The neat - and with certainty unusally seen and possibly unique! - typical golden-toned- and copper-based and neatly hand-engraved 'souvenir' (ie. cigarette-lighter) is depicting a detailed statue and showing the engraved text: 'Kiew 1943' on its front and on its back two engraved initials (that read: 'KD' or alike: It is void of any makers'-designation (as more often) and is (I deem) still functional. The piece - which measures 6 x 3,3 x 0,8 cms. - is truly nicely fabricated (ie. engraved') and is a neat example of the shown craftmenship of the days: I deem that it originates from a local (Russian) production and is a clear example of the type of 'souvenir-items' that could be acquired by the troops serving in that area. The piece is nicely preserved and is void of any damage or alike (as can be seen on the pictures). These neat 'souvenir'-items could be privately purchased from local artisans and were very popular amongst the troops. Simply a neat - and naturally 100% genuine! - 'souvenir'- (ie. cigarette-lighter) that originates from a German private-household where it was recently uncovered!
