Superb - scarcely seen albeit regrettably single! - early- (ie. pre-war-) period WH (Heeres), 'M36 ie. M40'-pattern (rounded-style-) 'cyphered', EM-type shoulderstrap as was intended for a: 'Soldat des Festungspionier-Abteilungs 19'
This is a very attractive - and as such actually very scarcely encountered albeit regrettably single! - early- (ie. pre-war-) period WH (Heeres), 'M36 ie. M40'-pattern (rounded-styled) 'cyphered', enlisted-mens'-type shoulderstrap as was piped in the black- (ie. 'schwarzer'-) coloured branchcolour as was specifically intended a: 'Soldat des Festungspionier-Abteilungs 19' (or: fortification-construction-unit, numbered '19') and that comes in an overall very nice- (albeit just moderately used and/or worn-), condition. The neat strap - which is of the typical pre- ie. early-war-type - has a darker-green-coloured and woolen-based 'upperdeck' as to be expected. The tongue is naturally also present and/or functional. The strap - which measures approximately 11,5 cms. in length - shows the black- (ie. 'schwarzer'-) coloured and/or woolen-type piping attached as to be expected. It shows the neat (machine-embroidered by means of so-called: 'Kurbelstickerei'), Gothic-styled: 'FP'-cyphers and/or: '17'-numerals (or: 'Ziffern') attached (which are executed in the black- (ie. 'schwarzer'-) coloured - and white-rimmed! - wool ie. linnen as to be expected). The strap is a typical example of a 'standard-issued' specimen that is text-book in all facets. It should be noted that all 'cyphered'-type shoulderstraps can be easily regarded 'fairly scarce'. This particular example originated from a larger cloth- ie. shoulderstrap-collection I recently acquired. In any case an attractive and/or early-war period-, 'cyphered Heeres'-related EM-shoulderstrap as was intended for a: a: 'Soldat des Festungspionier-Abteilungs 19': too bad that it is only a single strap!
