Superb - clearly used and actually very scarcely found! - WH (Luftwaffe) 'tropical'-issued- (ie. DAK or 'Deutsches Afrika Korps'-related) EM- ie. NCO-type breasteagle as was specifically intended for usage on the tropical-tunic
This attractive example is neatly silverish-grey-coloured- and is executed on a (slightly thicker-shaped) tropical-styled, light-brownish- (ie. typical tan-) coloured and/or also linnen-based, background. The piece comes - as stated above - in an overall very nice and/or clearly tunic-removed (ie. possibly cut-out!) condition: it still shows some of the stitching-remains ie. holes with which it was once tunic-attached (as can be seen on the pictures). The piece - which measures from wing-tip to wing-tip approximately 9,5 cms. - is just a tiny bit stained (ie. minimally faded) and does show some minimal staining as caused by years of storage and/or moderate wear but has maintained very nice detail overall. The piece is carefully period-tunic-removed and can as such easily serve to restore any tropical-tunic. These 'tropical' (ie. DAK or 'Deutsches Afrika Korps') breasteagles as were specifically intended for usage onto the tropical-tunics can easily be graded truly 'scarce' and come not that often for sale. Simply a very nice attractive example of a WH (Luftwaffe) 'tropical'-issued- (ie. DAK or 'Deutsches Afrika Korps'-related) EM- ie. NCO-type breasteagle that will be hard to be upgraded!
