Superb, WH (Luftwaffe) 'Flugzeugführer-Abzeichen' (or: pilots'-badge) being a maker- (ie. 'BSW'-) marked- and typical 'Buntmetall'-based example as was produced by the maker (ie. 'Hersteller') named: 'Brüder Schneider' (ie. 'BSW')
This is a truly very atractive - and not that easily found! - WH (Luftwaffe) 'Flugzeugführer-Abzeichen' (or: pilots'-badge) being a clearly maker- (ie. 'BSW'-) marked- and/or: typical 'Buntmetall'- (ie. 'Tombak') based example as was produced by the desirable maker (ie. 'Hersteller') named: 'Brüder Schneider' (ie. 'BSW') and that comes in an overal very nice- (and I deem just moderately used- ie. worn-), condition. The - I deem - fairly early-war-period- and/or very detailed - LW-war-badge has only been moderately worn and comes naturally mounted onto its fully functional (and fully unaltered!) pin- and/or functional catch (ie. typical catch set-up). The award shows a 'separately'- (and/or very detailed!) silverish-blue-coloured eagle-device attached (by means of two firmly attached- and totally unaltered rivets (as is visible on the back). The badge truly retains most of its period-applied (somewhat 'glossy') finish as is more often found on by 'BSW'-produced LW-war-badges. The badge shows a clear makers'-designation (being of the so-called: 'micro clover-leave mark') and is thus in all respects an example that can be attributed to the desirable Austrian maker: 'Brüder Schneider' based in the town of Wien (ie. Vienna): the award shows naturally all the specific details as known for a genuine badge by this particular maker. The piece is just minimally stained ie. dirty but has never been cleaned: the bright silver-coloured wreath and/or somewhat darker-coloured eagle-device both retain a very nice and only minimally tarnished appearance. The badge originates from a private-household in Germany where it was recently uncovered and was as such most certainly awarded, worn- and/or stored as such for decades. I deem that I have priced this truly attractive piece accordingly!
