Attractive - albeit regrettably single! - early- (ie. mid-) war-period (ie. 'M40'-/'M43'-type) WH (Heeres) 'cyphered' NCO-type shoulderstrap as was intended for an: 'Unterfeldwebel u. Offz.Anwärter u. Mitglied der 5. Infanterie-Division'

This is an attractive - and as such actually scarcely encountered albeit regrettably single! - early- (ie. mid-war-) period (ie. 'M40'-/'M43'-type) WH (Heeres) neatly 'cyphered' NCO-type shoulderstrap as piped in the white- (ie. 'weisser'-) coloured branchcolour as was intended for - and with certainty worn by! - an: 'Unterfeldwebel u. Offiziers-Anwärter u. Mitglied der 5. Infanterie-Division' (or: junior-sergeant and officers'-candidate who served within a specific, infantry-related unit that belonged to the 5th infantry-division) and that comes in an overall nice- (albeit moderately used and/or worn-), condition. The neat shoulderstrap has a typical field-grey-coloured and/or woolen-based 'upperdeck' as to be expected and shows the white- (ie. 'weisser'-) coloured and/or 'silk-like'-type piping attached (as can be seen on the pictures). The tongue is naturally also present and/or functional. The strap - which measures approximately 11 cms. in length - and shows the 'standard'-pattern, silverish-coloured 'Heeres'-type NCO-braid, attached. The strap shows a neat (larger-sized, Gothic-styled- and/or: aluminium-based) so-called: 'D'-cypher (ie. 'Ziffer') and equally-styled (but smaller-sized) '5'-cypher (ie. 'Ziffer') attached denoting the NCOs rank of: 'Feldwebel'. Both devices (as well as the strap itself) show some moderate age- ie. tarnish and/or wear (some minor staining and/or dust is visible- ie. present). Moreover, does the strap show a (firmly-attached!) additional (horizontally-mounted) piece of NCO-braid attached making the strap presumably intended for an officers-candidate (ie. 'Offiziers-Anwärter'). It should be noted that all 'cyphered'-type shoulderstraps can be easily regarded 'scarce'. This particular example originated from a larger cloth- ie. shoulderstrap-collection I recently acquired for the web-site. In any case an attractive, neatly 'cyphered Heeres'-related shoulderstrap as was intended for an: 'Unterfeldwebel u. Offz.Anwärter u. Mitglied der 5. Infanterie-Division': too bad that it is only a single strap!
