Attractive - and unusually found! - early-period, veteran-association-related 'tinnie' (ie. 'Tagungs- o. Veranstaltungsabzeichen') showing the text: 'Zum 20 jährigen Gedenken der Schlacht von Langemarck - 1914-1934'
This is an attractive - and typically 'hollow'-styled and with certainty quite scarcely found! - early-period, so-called: 'veteran-association'-related 'tinnie' (ie. 'Tagungs- o. Veranstaltungsabzeichen') being a typical non-maker-marked- and/or golden-bronze toned- (ie. I deem copper-toned- ie. 'Eisenblech'-based) example showing the text: 'Zum 20 jährigen Gedenken der Schlacht von Langemarck - 1914-1934' and that comes in an overall very nice- (albeit issued- ie. I deem just moderately worn-), condition. The piece is executed in typical, golden-bronze-coloured metal: it shows some normal wear and/or moderate age but has never been cleaned nor polished (it is still a bit dirty but has maintained a nice, minimally darkened- ie. tarnished, age-patina and holds most of its period-apllied finish). The badge shows an illustration of the so-called: 'Langemarck-Kreuz des 26. Reserve-Korps' coupled with some oak-leaves and the above mentioned text (as can be seen on the pictures). The square-sized piece (sized: 3,8 x 2,7 cms.) comes naturally mounted onto its functional pin- ie. pin/catch set-up and shows some minimal age ie. staining (as can be seen on the pictures). The battle of Langemarck - being a small village in Flanders/Belgium - took place on October 21, 1914 and was later made into a TR-myth and was glorified as the “sacrifice of the German youth”. Simply a nice occasion to acquire an attractive - and truly unusally found! - veteran-association-related, so-called: 'Tagungs- o. Veranstaltungsabzeichen' for an interesting price!
