Attractive - and truly scarcely encountered! - HJ- (ie. 'Flieger-HJ') specialist-armbadge (or: 'Schulabzeichen') depicting the text: '1. Techn. Vorschule d. Luftwaffe - München'
This is an attractive - and actually scarcely encountered! - HJ ('Hitlerjugend'- ie. 'Flieger-HJ'-) related and/or circular-shaped so-called: specialist-armbadge (or: 'Schulabzeichen') depicting the text: '1. Techn. Vorschule d. Luftwaffe - München' and that comes in an overall nice- (I deem issued albeit never used- nor tunic-attached-), condition. These neat circular-shaped badges signified membership within one of the technical preparatory-airforce-schools (or institutes). The badge on offer here shows membership within such a school based in the town of München: there were several of these youth training-institutes - it is said that 32 of such schools existed! - that mostly functioned under the direction of one the larger air-craft industrial companies (such as: 'Focke Wulf', 'Messerschmitt' and others). The neat badge - executed in golden-yellow-coloured (linnen-based) stitching onto a blue-coloured- and/or linnen-based background - shows in its centre a larger-sized '1'-numeral and is void of an extra backing: it just shows some minimal (storage)age and/or staining (as can be noticed on the pictures). These circular-shaped badges were instituted as late as 1944 and 'replaced' the until that date used armbands ('Ärmelstreifen') having a similar text. Simply a very attractive - and surely scarcely encountered! - youth-related arm-badge ie. 'HJ-Schulabzeichen'!
