Super - albeit damaged! - 'Nahkampfspange in Silber' (or: silver-class close-combat clasp ie. CCC) being a neatly maker-marked- and/or non-converse-shaped specimen as was produced by the: 'C.F. Juncker'-company
This is an attractive - and actually rarely encountered albeit moderately used- and/or worn and regrettably period-damaged- ie. 'cracked'! - example of a so-called: 'Nahkampfspange in Silber' (or: silver-class close-combat clasp ie. CCC) being a neatly maker- (ie. 'C.F. Juncker - Berlin'-) marked- and/or non-converse-shaped version and that comes in an overall nice- (albeit - I deem - just moderately used ie. worn-), condition. The piece - which has a very detailed and/or pronounced appearance - is as stated a neatly maker-marked version bearing the makers'-designation- (that reads: 'Fec. W.E. Peekhaus Berlin - Ausf. C.F. Juncker') on its back denoting that this is a piece as was produced by the desirable: 'C.F. Juncker'-company based in the town of Berlin. The 'Spange' is as stated non-converse-shaped and shows a neat flute-shaped and equally silver-toned - pin (and/or period catch- ie. catch-set-up) both which are of course still present and/or fully functional. The clasp truly retains almost all of its original (somewhat shiny) silver-toned finish and has never been cleaned nor polished: it does show some truly minimal- and non-disturbing wear-marks (as can be seen on the pictures). The 'crimped' (steel- ie. bluish-black-coloured) metal-based 'back-plate' is naturally also present and firmly in place. The piece shows, however, a period- and horizontally-appearing 'crack' BUT comes still firmly in one piece: it is NOT broken or alike (which can be noticed on the pictures). A similar example is also described in the excellent reference-book entitled: 'The German Close Combat Clasp of World War II' by Thomas M. Durante wherein this particular pattern is given the unique reference-numeral : '7.3 - Juncker - “2nd Pattern” - Reverse Die “A” - Recessed Hardware'. Simply an attractive - and scarcely encountered! - example of a silver-class 'Nahkampfspange' that I have priced according to the presence of the 'crack' as described above: it should be noted that original examples of this neat award are nowadays getting very hard to get. I deem that I priced this attractive example according to its overall nice and/or fully untouched condition!
