Attractive, black-coloured- and linnen-based 'Der Stahlhelmbund' (ie. 'Der Stahlhelm' - Bund der Frontsoldaten (or: Sta)' armband (ie. 'Ärmelstreifen') entitled: 'Gau Thüringen'

This is an attractive - and actually unusually encountered! - early-period, black-coloured- and typical linnen-based 'Der Stahlhelmbund' (ie. 'Der Stahlhelm' - Bund der Frontsoldaten (or: Sta)' armband (ie. 'Ärmelstreifen') entitled: 'Gau Thüringen' and that comes in an overall nice- (albeit moderately used ie. worn and/or carefully tunic-removed-), condition. The armband measures approximately 29 cms. and is executed in (smooth-type) black-coloured linnen in the 'BeVo'-like weave-pattern and shows the white-coloured text that reads: 'Gau Thüringen' (as can be noticed on the pictures). The organisation 'Der Stahlhelm' - Bund der Frontsoldaten (or: Sta)' was conceived as a national veterans’-organization by Franz Seldte in November of 1918 and was officially founded on Christmas-day of that year. It was mostly comprised of WWI veterans trying to assimilate back into what was then a devastated society. The 'Der Stahlhelm' became the largest of the post-war veterans- groups, incorporating many of the smaller 'Freikorps'-groups into it. Most of its members were assimilated by the SA in 1933, and it was disbanded in 1935, with its remaining members absorbed by the D.R.K.B. ("Deutscher Reichskriegerbund"). The cuff-title can as such most certainly be re-mounted onto a: 'Der Stahlhelm'-tunic if wanted or deemed neccesary. The band still shows some of its period stitching-remains with which it was once tunic-attached. Simply a neat - and most certainly not that often encountered! - 'Der Stahlhelmbund'-related cuff-title that is I deem accordingly priced!
