Attractive - and scarcely found! - commemorative, zinc-based 'HJ' sports-related 'tinnie' being a maker- (ie. 'F. Mannheim'-) marked example depicting a 'HJ-Fahne' and text: 'Grenzlandtreffen der HJ Pfalz-Saar am 12./13. August 1936'
The attractive - scarcely found and unusually square-sized in the format of a 'HJ-Raute'! - day-badge (ie. 'tinnie' or: 'Veranstaltungsabzeichen') is executed in greyish-silver-coloured- and zinc- (ie. 'Feinzink-) based (pot)metal: it shows some normal wear and/or moderate age. The badge comes mounted onto a functional pin-/catch set-up and has (I deem) never been cleaned nor polished: it shows some age ie. staining (as can be seen on the pictures). The 'tinnie' is still quite detailed and retains a fair bit of its somewhat darkened- and/or: tarnished, silver-coloured finish. The 'tinnie' shows (as stated above) a clearly present, period-glued-on makers'-designation-label (that reads: 'F. Mannheim - Kaiserslaurttern' as can be seen on the pictures). The piece shows two hands holding a coloured (ie. painted) 'HJ-Fahne' and is surrounded by the text: 'Grenzlandtreffen der HJ Pfalz-Saar am 12./13. August 1936'. Simply an attractive - and unusual and surely not that easily found! - 'HJ'- (ie. 'Hitlerjugend'-) sports-related 'tinnie' that is accordingly priced!
