Attractive - fully matching and scarcely encountered! - pair of WH (Heeres) 'cyphered' officers'-type shoulderboards as intended for an: 'Oberleutnant eines Infanterie-Schützen-Abts. o. Rgts.'
This is an attractive - fully matching and actually scarcely encountered! - pair of neatly 'cyphered', WH (Heeres) officers'-type shoulderboards, as piped in the white- (ie. 'weisser'-) coloured branchcolour as was intended for usage by an: 'Oberleutnant eines Infanterie-Schützen-Abteilungs o. Regiments' (or: lieutnant first-class and/or gunner who served within a specialised 'Infanterie'-regiment ie. unit) and that comes in an overall nice- (ie. clearly issued- and truly used- ie. worn-), condition. The shoulderboards are truly 'text-book'-examples of the 'Heeres'-type, 'Infanterie'-shoulderboards and have the greyish-silver- (ie. somewhat sub-dued-) 'upperdecks'. The boards show the desirable white- (ie. 'weisser'-) coloured branchcolour (and were constructed from the smooth-type wool as to be expected). The boards come mounted onto their (typical smaller-sized) officers'-pattern tongues and measure approximately 10,6 cms. in length each. The boards just show some moderate age and/or wear only (as can be seen on the pictures). The boards show a (matching) pair of neatly golden-bronze-toned- (regular-sized- and/or Gothic-styled) so-called: 'S'-cyphers (ie. 'Ziffern') and two (identically-styled but tarnished) pips period-attached, denoting that the officer who was issued this pair was a gunner ie. an officer who served within an: 'Infanterie-Schützen-Abteilungs o. Regiments'. All four devices are just a bit stained- ie. tarnished but have preserved a fine and fairly bright- (and/or quite shiny) age-patina. The pair came with a set of (silver-toned- and pebbled-styled) 'Schraubknöpfe' attached (as can be noticed on the pictures). It should be mentioned that these neatly 'cyphered', 'Heeres'-type 'Infanterie'-shoulderboards are actually quite hard to come by and can easily be graded 'scarce': simply a very attractive officers'-type shoulderboard-pair that belonged to an: 'Oberleutnant eines Infanterie-Schützen-Abteilungs o. Regiments'!
