This is a very desirable and actually truly rarely encountered replacement-piece: a WH (Heeres) 'tropical-issued' cocarde (ie. 'Mützenkokarde') of the desirable first-pattern as was used on the tropical side- (and/or 'M41'-type) caps (ie. 'Schiffchen o. Feldmützen') as was executed in neat 'BeVo'-weave pattern on a light-yellowish-brown (ie. tan-) coloured background and that comes in an overall nice- (albeit clearly used- ie. carefully cap-removed-), condition. The cocarde just shows some minimal age and/or slight staining and still shows some stiching-holes caused by having been once cap-attached by means of a machine (as can be seen on the pictures). It should be mentioned that these tropical cocardes (of the first pattern) as executed in the 'BeVo'-weave pattern rank amongst the most difficult to obtain cocardes of the period. Simply one of those insignia-pieces that are almost impossible to find if needed and that is accordingly priced!
