Attractive, so-called: 'Nahkampfspange in Silber' (or: silver-class close-combat clasp ie. CCC), being a neatly maker- (ie. 'R.S.'-) marked- and/or non-converse version (by the maker- ie. Attractive, so-called: 'Nahkampfspange in Silber' (or: silver-class close-combat clasp ie. CCC), being a neatly maker- (ie. 'R.S.'-) marked- and/or non-converse version (by the maker- ie. 'Hersteller': 'Rudolf Souval')

This is a truly attractive example of a so-called: 'Nahkampfspange in Silber' (or: silver-class close-combat clasp ie. CCC), being a neatly maker- (ie. 'R.S.'-) marked- and/or non-converse-shaped version (by the company: 'Rudolf Souval' based in the Austrian town of Wien), in overall very nice- (and I deem just moderately used ie. worn-), condition. The neat piece - which has a very detailed and/or pronounced appearance - is as stated a clearly maker-marked version bearing the makers'-designation- (ie. logo) 'R.S.') on its back thus denoting that this is a piece as was produced by the: 'Rudolf Souval'-company as was based in the Austrian town of Wien (ie. Vienna). The 'Spange' is as stated non-converse-shaped and shows a neat flute-shaped - and/or equally silver-toned - pin (and/or typical catch-/catch-set-up) both which are of course still present and/or fully functional (as can be noticed on the pictures. The clasp retains a fair bit of its original, (bluish)silver-toned finish and has (I deem) never been cleaned nor polished: as more often seen with these zinc-based, silver-class awards has some of its silver-based finish 'faded-away' over the years (as can be seen on the pictures). The 'crimped' (and also silver-coloured) metal-based 'back-plate' is naturally also present and firmly in place. A similar example is also described in Thomas Durantes' excellent reference-work entitled: 'The German Close Combat Clasp of World War II' wherein it is given the unique reference-number and description: '8.1. - 1st pattern - flat-bellied-pin'-type. The piece was recently found as such at a private-household in Germany and was never before in a collection. Simply a very attractive examle of a silver-class 'Nahkampfspange': it should be noted that original examples of this neat award are nowadays getting hard to get. I deem that I priced this example according to its overall very nice and/or fully untouched condition!
