Attractive, 'Panzerkampfabzeichen in Silber' (or: silver-class panzer-assault badge or PAB) being a clearly maker- (ie. 'AS'-) marked- and/or zinc- (ie. 'Feinzink'-) based specimen, as was procuced by the: 'Adolf Scholze'- (ie. 'A.S.'-) company
This is a truly attractive - and I deem only moderately used - example of a so-called: 'Panzerkampfabzeichen in Silber' (or: silver-class panzer-assault badge or PAB) being a clearly maker- (ie. 'AS'-) marked- and/or zinc- (ie. 'Feinzink'-) based specimen as was with certainty procuced by the: 'Adolf Scholze'- (ie. 'A.S.'-) company and that comes in an overall nice- (and I deem only moderately used- ie. worn-), condition. The badge on offer here concerns a mid-war-period, typical zinc- ie. 'Feinzink'-based specimen that retains almost all of its (fairly frosted- and somewhat darkened ie. tarnished-) silver-coloured finish and that has a very attractive appearance, still showing pronounced detail as to be expected by a badge by this particular maker. The badge has never been cleaned nor polished (and is still also a tiny bit dirty ie. stained- ie. tarnished as mentioned above). As stated is the piece a neatly maker-marked example that shows the various characteristics - such as for example the typically ball-shaped pin-set-up, silver-coloured thin-shaped pin and/or modelled catch - as only seen on PABs as produced by the: 'Adolf Scholze'-company based in the town of Gablonz: it deals with a so-called: 'semi-hollow pattern' (as is uniquely numbered with the reference-number: '3.1.4.' according to the excellent reference-work entitled: 'The Panzer-Assault badge of WWII' by my Belgian friend Philippe de Bock). The very attractive piece naturally shows all the details as to be expected for a badge by this particular maker. It was recently found as such at a German private-household and was never before part of a collection. The piece comes naturally mounted onto its fully functional pin- and/or catch (as can be seen on the pictures). Simply a very attractive and honest silver-class PAB by the desirable 'Adolf Scholze'-company that is accordingly priced!
