Commemorative, silver-toned and/or tin-based: 'N.S.K.O.V.'-related 'tinnie' being a non-maker-marked example showing a soldier wearing a steelhelmet coupled with the text: '1. Kriegsopfer u. Soldatentag - 17. u. 18. November 1934 - Frankfurt a. M.'
The attractive - and fairly early-period - 'Nationalsozialistischer Kriegsopferversorsung'- (ie. 'N.S.K.O.V.'-) related day-badge (ie. 'tinnie' or: 'Veranstaltungsabzeichen') is executed in silverish-grey-coloured- and/or (I deem) zinc- ie. tin-based metal: it shows some minimal wear and/or moderate age (but has never been cleaned nor polished and retains a nicely preserved, age-patina). The cross-shaped badge comes naturally mounted onto its functional pin- ie. catch set-up and shows some minimal age- and/or staining (as can be seen on the pictures). The 'tinnie' is quite detailed and shows an illustration of a soldier wearing a steel-helmet, an N.S.K.OV.-symbol and depicts the text: '1. Kriegsopfer u. Soldatentag - 17. u. 18. November 1934 - Frankfurt a. M.' . It should be noted that all 'N.S.K.O.V.-related tinnies that were intended to commemorate an event at town- ie. 'Gau'-level (such as the piece on offer here) saw much more limited usage and can easily be graded 'fairly scarce'. Of course, did I price this attractive - and with certainty not that often seen! - example accordingly!
