Interesting - and actually never before seen! - bi-lingual, Latvian Waffen-SS-related ID-card (ie. 'Ausweis' or: 'Aplieciba') as was intended - and issued! - for the 'Soldat' serving within the 'Lett. SS-Freiw. Legion' named: Rudolfs Kalver
This is an interesting - and actually never before seen and with certainty not that often seen! - bi-lingual, Latvian Waffen-SS-related ID-card (ie. 'Ausweis' or: 'Aplieciba') as was intended - and issued! - for the 'Soldat' serving within the 'Lett. SS-Freiw. Legion' (ie. Latvian Legion) named: Rudolfs Kalver and that comes in an overall very nice, complete and filled-in condition. The neat green-coloured card -which measures folded 15 x 10 cms. - is neatly filled-in by a machine and bears the (unique) serial-number: '04246' (as can be noticed on the pictures). The piece bears a clear ink-stamp (ie. 'Diensiegel') that reads: ' Waffen-SS - SS-Fürsorgeoffizier Ostland' and bears a (facimile?) signature of an unidentified 'SS-Obersturmführer' (being the: 'Fürsorgeoffizier der Waffen-SS “Ostland” as can be seen on the pictures). The document certifies that Kalver was enlisted on 16 September 1944. Simply a neat and most certainly not that often encountered Waffen-SS ID-document that belongend to a member of the Latvian Waffen-SS Legion!
