Attractive - albeit period repaired - DRK- (ie. 'Deutsches Rotes Kreuz'- or German Red Cross) related so-called: nurses'-brooch entitled: 'Freie Schwesternschaft' (being a moderately used- and multi-coloured-enamelled albeit non-maker-marked example)
This is an attractive - albeit period-repaired but nevertheless quite scarcely encountered! - DRK- (ie. 'Deutsches Rotes Kreuz'- or German Red Cross) so-called: nurses'-badge entitled: 'Freie Schwesternschaft' being an attractive, multi-coloured enamelled (albeit non-maker-marked) example that comes in an overall nice- (albeit moderately used- ie. worn-), condition. The badge is made-out of silvered so-called: 'Buntmetall' and truly retains immaculate enamel and/or fairly tarnished (albeit silverished) finish (truly no real damages are noticable). The badge is totally void of a markers'-designation and shows a (period-altered) pin ie. safety-pin in place (as can be seen on the pictures). The fairly large-sized brooch (having an approximate diameter of 3,7 cms.) was most certainly issued and/or worn: it has most certainly never been cleaned nor polished and still has a neat, somewhat 'darkened' age-patina. The pin - which has a replaced pin- ie. catch set-up in place - is also figured in the Heering-Hüsken lapel-pin-catalogue, wherein it is given the unique reference-number: 5627A and an estimated value of 180 Eu(!). Simply an attractive - and actually scarcely encountered! - DRK- (ie. 'Deutsches Rotes Kreuz'- or German Red Cross) related so-called: 'Freie Schwesternschaft'-brooch that is I deem priced according to its replaced pin!
