Attractive - and truly rarely encountered! - HJ- (ie. 'Flieger-HJ') specialist-armbadge (or: 'Schulabzeichen') depicting the text: 'Techn. Vorschule d. Luftwaffe - Bremen-Hemelingen'
This is a very attractive - and actually rarely encountered! - HJ ('Hitlerjugend'- ie. 'Flieger-HJ'-) related so-called: specialist-armbadge (or: 'Schulabzeichen') depicting the text: 'Techn. Vorschule d. Luftwaffe - Bremen-Hemelingen' with below that some oakleaves and swastika-device and that comes in an overall nice- (I deem clearly issued-, moderately worn and carefully tunic-removed-), condition. These neat diamond-shaped badges signified membership within one of the technical preparatory-airforce-schools (or institutes). The badge on offer here shows membership within such a school based in the town of Kassel: there were several of these youth training-institutes - it is said that 32 of such schools existed! - that mostly functioned under the direction of one the larger air-craft industrial companies (such as: 'Focke Wulf', 'Messerschmitt' and others). The neat badge - executed in greyish-white-coloured (linnen-based) stitching onto a black-coloured- and/or woolen-based background - is void of an extra backing and just shows some minimal age, wear and/or staining. These diamond-shaped badges (ie. 'Räute') were instituted as late as 1944 and 'replaced' the until that date used armbands ('Ärmelstreifen') having a similar text. Simply a very attractive - and surely rarely encountered! - youth-related arm-badge ie. 'HJ-Schulabzeichen'!
