This is a neat - and I deem just moderately worn- and/or clearly used! - example of an: 'Eisernes Kreuz 1. Klasse' (or: Iron Cross 1st class) being a detailed and non-maker-marked example as was produced by the Austrian-based maker (ie. 'Hersteller') named: 'Friedrich Orth' (ie. 'Hersteller 15') as was based in the town of Wien (ie. Vienna) and that came as issued and/or recently found and that comes in an overall nice- (surely issued and/or clearly used- and/or worn-), condition. The magnetic cross has an overall nice age-patina and retains truly great detail: the black-coloured core shows no rust but does show some minimal paint-loss: the satin-like (ie. matted) black-coloured painted core is mainly nicely preserved (as can be seen on the pictures). The cross - which has a magnetic core - has lost most of its 'off-factory applied' polished sides (ie. 'hochpolierte Kanten') and does show some obvious tarnish ie. staining (but was never cleaned nor polished). The (flute-shaped) pin and catch (ie. set-up) are naturally unaltered and/or fully functional. The cross is - I deem -an evident specimen that was produced by the maker (ie. 'Hersteller'): 'Friedrich Orth' (ie. 'Hersteller 15') as was based in the town of Wien (ie. Vienna). Simply a neat, IC1 that was never before part of a collection: I deem that I have priced this moderately used but untouched example accordingly!
