Neat - and fully matching! - pair of WH (Heeres) officers'-type shoulderboards as was intended for - and clearly used by! - a: 'Leutnant eines Kavallerie o. Aufklärungs-Abteilungs'
The attractive WH (Heeres) shoulderboard-pair is piped in the neat golden-yellow- (ie. 'goldgelbener'-) coloured branchcolour and was as such intended for usage (and clearly used by!) a: 'Leutnant eines Kavallerie o. Aufklärungs-Abteilungs' (or: lieutnant who served within an army, cavalry- ie. reconnaissance unit ie. regiment) and that comes in an overall nice- (ie. most certainly issued and/or moderately used- ie. worn- and carefully tunic-removed-), condition. The truly attractive shoulderboards are 'text-book'-examples of the 'Heeres'-type, 'Kavallerie o. Aufklärungs'-related shoulderboards and have the greysish-silver-coloured (ie. somewhat-sub-dued-) 'upperdecks' (making this a pair that was - I deem - intended for usage on a typical 'front-used'-tunic). The boards show the desirable golden-yellow- (ie. 'goldgelbener'-) branchcolour (and were constructed from the typical smooth-type wool as more often seen). The boards never has any tongues attached and were clearly intended for usage as a pair of 'sew-in'-pattern (as can be seen on the pictures). The boards measure approximately 9,8 cms. in length each and never had any cyphers (ie. 'Ziffern') nor pips attached denoting the junior-officers'-rank of: 'Leutnant' (ie. lieutnant). The pair was, however, clearly used as such and does show some age, wear and/or staining (as can be seen on the pictures). Simply an attractive WH (Heeres) shoulderboard-pair pair that belonged to a: 'Leutnant eines Kavallerie o. Aufklärungs-Abteilungs'!
