Neat - and fully matching! - pair of WH (Heeres) officers'-type shoulderboards as piped in the bright-red- (ie. 'hochroter'-) coloured branchcolour as was intended for a: 'Leutnant eines (Sturm)Artillerie-Regiments'
The attractive - and carefully tunic-removed! - shoulderboards are typical, 'text-book'-examples of the Heeres'-type, officers'-pattern shoulderboards and have the silverish-grey- (ie. somewhat 'sub-dued'-type-) 'upperdecks': they were most certainly once tunic-attached and show some minimal age and/or staining (as can be seen on the pictures). The boards show the desirable bright-red- (ie. 'hochroter'-) coloured (and were constructed from the 'smooth-type'- ie. 'moleskin-type'-wool as to be expected). The boards never had any tongues attached and were clearly intended (and used!) as a pair of the 'sew-in'-pattern (as can be seen on the pictures). The boards measure approximately 11,7 cms. in length each and never had any numerals (ie. 'Ziffern') nor pips attached (as can be seen on the pictures) denoting that the officer who wore this set held the rank of: 'Leutnant' (ie. lieutnant). Taking into account the fact that this pair has the somewhat 'sub-dued'-type 'upperdecks' I deem that it was a pair that was intended to be used on a regular 'front-tunic'. Simply an attractive WH (Heeres) shoulderboard-pair that belonged to a: 'Leutnant eines (Sturm)Artillerie-Regiments' and that is accordingly priced!
