Attractive - and presumably Dutch-produced - example of an early-pattern and neatly hand-embroidered WA- (or: 'Weerafdelingen'-) related 'Motor WA'-breast-badge (ie. in Dutch language 'Dienstonderscheidingsteken der Motor-WA')
This is an attractive - and presumably Dutch-produced - example of the attractive and with certainty scarcely encountered, neatly hand-embroidered WA- (or: 'Weerafdelingen der Nationaal Socialistische Beweging'-) related 'Motor WA'-breast-badge (ie. in Dutch language 'Dienstonderscheidingsteken der Motor-WA') and that comes in an overall very nice- (and/or I deem issued- albeit never worn- ie. 'virtually mint'-), condition. The neat patch - which measures 4,5 x 4,5 cms. - comes mounted onto a black-coloured- and/or woolen-based 'backing' (which is covered by beige-toned paper) whereupon a bright-red-toned 'wheel'-symbol is embroidered (as can be seen on the pictures). The WA (or in Dutch language: 'Weerafdelingen') could be compared with the German SA ('Sturmabteilungen') and was part of the NSB- (or: 'Nationaal Socialistische Beweging' being the Dutch WWII-period, pro-German party. It should be noted that these neatly hand-embroidered, 'Motor-WA'-badges can easily be considered 'scarce'. The piece was never used nor tunic-attached but does show a tiny moth-bite in one of its corners (as can be seen on the pictures). I deem that this is the version that was specifically intended for EM- ie. NCO-usage. Simply a nice occasion to acquire a 100% guaranteed original, Dutch-related, 'Dienstonderscheidingsteken der Motor-WA' for a justified price!
