Attractive, golden-bronze-toned, so-called: 'Einzelspange' (being of the desirable detachable-pattern!) showing a: 'Frontkämpferkreuz 1914-18 o. Schwertern' (ie.: 'Kriegsteilnehmerkreuz 1914-18 ohne Schw.')
This is an attractive example of a bright golden-bronze-toned, so-called: 'Einzelspange' (of the desirable detachable pattern!) showing a WWI-period: 'Frontkämpferkreuz 1914-18 ohne Schwertern' (ie.: 'Kriegsteilnehmerkreuz 1914-18 ohne Schw.') and that comes as issued, minimally worn and/or recently found. The detail on this example is nicely preserved: it has - I deem - never been cleaned nor polished and has an attractive and minimally tarnished age-patina (as can be seen on the pictures). The medal comes 'mounted' onto a clasp (with functional pin- ie. catch set-up) as was intended for wearing this example on a 'going-out'- ie. dress-tunic or 'Waffenrock'. This example truly retains nice details and shows a clearly present makers'-designation on its back (that reads: 'PLS' or alike as can be seen on the pictures. The 'Spange' is not 'backed' but comes mounted onto a metal-based 'backing-plate' as is more often seen. The ribbon shows only minimal usage and/or staining. Simply a neat WWI-period 'Einzelspange' that is with certainty accordingly priced!
