Attractive - and actually scarcely encountered! - (I deem) EM- (ie. NCO-) type, so-called: 'Schutzmannschaften' (or: 'Schuma') armshield as executed in greyish-coloured thread on a black-coloured- (ie. 'Polizei'-related-) background
This is a very attractive - and actually scarcely encountered! - (I deem) enlisted-mens'- (ie. NCO-) type, so-called: 'Schutzmannschaften' (or: 'Schuma') armshield being an example as executed in greyish-coloured thread on a black-coloured background and depicting the text: 'Treu, Tapfer, Gehorsam' (which can be translated as: 'loyal, brave and obeying') and that comes in an overall very nice- (ie. simply never used- nor worn- ie. 'virtually mint- ie. unissued'-), condition. The neat arm-badge is executed in greyish-coloured thread on a black-coloured- ie. 'Polizei'-type background and as such signified the close interrelation between the - notorious! - 'Schuma'-units and the German police (ie. 'Polizei') ie. Waffen-SS and/or SD-units. I personally think that this badge was intended for enlisted-mens'- ie. NCO-usage: it was executed in the neat machine-woven pattern (almost certainly by the 'BeVo' company of Wuppertal). The neat piece was never trimmed- nor folded- ie. confectioned and comes as 'straithly cut-off the role': it just shows some age and/or staining caused by decades of storage only. This particular example originates from a smaller 'SS/SD'-collection that was compiled over the years and that I recently acquired for the web-site. Simply a very attractive and actually quite scarcely encountered 'Ostvölker'-related armbadge!
