Attractive - and fully matching! - pair of WH (Heeres) officers'-type shoulderboards as piped in the darker-green- (ie. 'grüner'-) coloured branchcolour as was intended for a: 'Leutnant eines Jäger- o. Gebirgsjäger-Regiments'
The attractive - and actually in this 'virtually mint ie. unissued' condition scarcely found! - shoulderboards are typical, 'text-book'-examples of the Heeres-pattern, officers'-type 'Jäger- o. Gebirgsjäger'- (ie. mountain-troops-) related shoulderboards and have the silverish-grey- (ie. clearly 'sub-dued'-type- and somewhat darkened) 'upperdecks'. The boards were most certainly never worn nor used and came as stored for decades (as can be seen on the pictures). The boards show the desirable darker-green- (ie. 'grüner'-) coloured branchcolour (and were constructed from the 'smooth-type' wool as to be expected). The boards never had any tongues attached (they were clearly intended for usage as a pair of the 'sew-in'-pattern) and measure approximately 11,5 ie. 11,7 cms. in length each. The pair never had any pips nor numerals (ie. 'Ziffern') attached and were thus intended for a junior-officer with the rank of: 'Leutnant' (ie. lieutnant). Taking into account, the fact that this pair has the somewhat 'sub-dued'-type 'upperdecks' I deem that it was a pair that was intended to be used on a regular 'front-used'-tunic. It should be mentioned that these officers'-pattern, 'Jäger- o. Gebirgjäger'-related shoulderboards are actually quite hard to come by and can easily be graded 'fairly scarce'. The pair shows some storage-age only (as can be seen on the pictures). This attractive pair originated from a private-household in Germany where it was recently found as such. Simply a very attractive WH (Heeres) shoulderboard-pair that belonged a: 'Leutnant eines Jäger- o. Gebirgsjäger-Regiments'!
