Neat - and nicely 'BeVo-woven'-like - Dutch WWII-period, labour service ie. 'Nederlandse Arbeidsdienst' (or: NAD) cap-badge entitled: 'Ick Dien' and that comes in a 'virtually mint- ie. unissued', condition
This is an attractive - and nicely 'BeVo-woven'-like! - Dutch WWII-period, labour service ie. 'Nederlandse Arbeidsdienst' (or: NAD) cap-badge (ie. 'Mützenabzeichen') entitled: 'Ick Dien' and that comes in an overall very nice- (ie. never cap-attached- ie. 'virtually mint- ie. unissued'-), condition. The neat cap-badge - sized: 5 x 3 cms. - is excuted in golden-yellow-coloured linnen on a typical bordeaux-red-coloured (and also linnen-based) backing and shows the NAD motto: 'Ick Dien' (which stands for: 'I serve') and a spade. This service was mainly under the influence of the Dutch pro-German Party, the NSB (or: 'Nationaal Socialistische Beweging'). The badge - that shows an interwoven numeral ('5317') and came as 'straightly cut-off the role' and simply cannot be upgraded. This piece originates from an advanced collection of NSB- ie. Dutch collaboration-related items that I recently acquired for the web-site. Simply a very attractive - and not that often-encountered! - Dutch collaborationist-item that is - I deem - fairly priced!
