This is a neat - regrettably broken but nevertheless actually not that often seen! - typical zinc-based, WH (Heeres) 'Artillerie-Beobachtungs'- (ie. artillery-observers'-) related ID-disc (ie. 'Erkennungsmarke') bearing the clearly stamped unit-designation that simply reads: '1. B./Art.Ers.Abt. 251' (and as such being I deem used by a soldier or NCO who served within the first company of a replacement (ie. 'Ergänzungs') artillery-observers'-related unit, numbered '251') and that comes as clearly issued- ie. moderately worn (and regrettably broken), condition. The disc - which is executed in a fine letter-type and is also stamped with the bearers' bloodgroup-type (type: 'A') on its front (as can be seen on the pictures). The piece shows some minimal age and staining but was never cleaned. Still an attractive and honest 'Heeres'- ie. 'Art.-Beobachtungs'-related ID-disc that is naturally priced according to its 'broken condition'!
