Superb - albeit regrettably single! - early- (ie. mid-) war-period WH (Heeres) 'M36'- (ie. 'M40'-) pattern (rounded-style) 'cyphered', NCO-type shoulderstrap as was intended for a: 'Feldwebel u. This is an attractive - and as such actually scarcely encountered albeit regrettably single! - early- (ie. mid-war-) period WH (Heeres), 'M36'- (ie. 'M40'-) type (rounded-style) 'cyphered' NCO-type shoulderstrap as piped in the bright-red- (ie. 'hochroterer'-) coloured branchcolour as was intended for - and with certainty worn by! - a: 'Feldwebel u. Mitglied des Beobachtungs-Abteilungs 3' (or: sergeant who served within a specific, artillery-observers' unit, numbered '3') and that comes in an overall nice- (albeit moderately used and/or worn-), condition. The neat shoulderstrap has a darker-green-coloured and woolen-based 'upperdeck' as to be expected and shows the bright-red- (ie. 'hochroterer'-) coloured and woolen-type piping attached (as can be seen on the pictures). The tongue is naturally also present and/or functional. The strap - which measures approximately 11,3 cms. in length and that is executed in so-called: 'boiled wool' and as such is presumably a privately-purchased strap - shows the 'standard'-pattern, (bright)silverish-coloured 'Heeres'-type NCO-braid, attached. The strap shows a neat (larger-sized, Gothic-styled- and/or: aluminium-based) so-called: 'B'-cypher and equally styled, '3'-numeral and single pip attached denoting the NCOs rank of: 'Feldwebel'. All three devices (as well as the strap itself) show some moderate age- ie. fair tarnish and/or wear (some minor staining and/or dust is visible-/present). It should be noted that all 'cyphered'-type shoulderstraps can be easily regarded 'scarce'. This particular example originated from a larger cloth- ie. shoulderstrap-collection I recently acquired for the web-site. In any case an attractive and/or early-war period, 'cyphered Heeres'-related shoulderstrap as was intended for a: 'Feldwebel u. Mitglied des Beobachtungs-Abteilungs 3': too bad that it is only a single strap!
