Superb, commemorative, unusually French-produced(!), bronze-based and/or WH-related sports-plaque (ie. 'Erinnerungs- o. nichttragbare Auszeichnungsplakette') showing the text: 'Wehrmacht-Sportwettkämpfe - Paris - 12.13.-9-1942'
This is a truly very attractive - and with certainty very scarcely encountered! - golden-bronze-toned- (and - I deem - genuine 'Bronze'-based!) so-called: commemorative and with certainty French-produced, WH-related sports-plaque (ie. 'Erinnerungs- o. nichttragbare Auszeichnungsplakette') showing on its front three (detailed!) sportsmen and on it back some oakleaves and the text: 'Wehrmacht-Sportwettkämpfe - Paris - 12.13.-9-1942' and that comes as stored for decades and that comes in an overall wonderful and truly nicely preserved, condition. The neat - medium-sized- and/or regular-weight-piece (having an approximate diameter of 5,0 cms.) has truly pronounced detail and was never cleaned nor polished: it has maintained a neat typical, golden-bronze-toned age-patina (but also shows some minimal tarnish as can be seen on the pictures). The back of the medal shows a superimposed text (as can be seen on the pictures). The piece came as issued and/or stored for decades. These attractive - I deem - semi-official - sports'-presentation-pieces were presumably used as some sort of awards and were handed-out during a specific 'Wehrmacht'-related-sports-contest held in occupied France (named: the 'Wehrmacht-Sportwettkämpfe') as was held in Paris in the year 1942). Of additional interest is, moreover, the fact that it bears a signature of the designer on its front (a certain: 'H. Demey') and on its back the name of the presumed producing-company (named: 'H. Dubois') as can be seen on the pictures, Simply a very attractive - and with certainty unusually encountered! - French-produced table-medal ie. 'Erinnerungs- o. nichttragbare Auszeichnungsplakette' that might merit some further investigative work!
