Commemorative, bronze-toned and/or tin-based: 'N.S.K.O.V.'-related 'tinnie' being a non-maker-marked example showing the text: 'Messina-Dardanellen - Bundestag Dresden - 1914-1939'
The attractive - and quite unusally seen! - naval-related day-badge (ie. 'tinnie' or: 'Veranstaltungsabzeichen') is executed in (light-weight) darker reddish-bronze-coloured- and/or (I deem) tin-based metal: it shows some minimal wear and/or moderate age (but has never been cleaned nor polished and retains a nicely preserved, age-patina). The circular-shaped badge (having an approsimate diameter of 4,8 cms.) comes naturally mounted onto its functional pin- ie. catch set-up and shows some minimal age- and/or staining (as can be seen on the pictures). The 'tinnie' is quite detailed and shows an illustration of a naval eagle-device ie. N.S.K.OV.-symbol and depicts the text: 'Messina-Dardanellen - Bundestag Dresden - 1914-1939' (and as such commemorating the famous naval-battles held in 1914). It should be noted that all 'N.S.K.O.V.-related tinnies that were intended to commemorate an event at town-level (such as the piece on offer here) saw much more limited usage and can easily be graded 'fairly scarce'. Of course, did I price this attractive - and with certainty not that often seen! - example accordingly!
