This is an attractive - and actually scarcely found! - Dutch WWII-period, labour-service ie. 'Nederlandse Arbeidsdienst' (or: NAD) sports'-badge entitled: 'Ick Dien' being an example that is executed in silver-coloured metal and that comes in a very nice- (albeit modetaly used- and/or worn-), condition. The breast-badge - which has surely been used and shows a 'frosted' silver finish without any defaults - comes in an overall very nice condition. The badge - sized: 4,5 x 3.5 cms. - shows the NAD motto: 'Ick Dien' (which stands for: 'I serve') and a spade within its centre a capital 'S' (signifying 'sport'). This service was mainly under the influence of the Dutch pro-German Party, the NSB (or: 'Nationaal Socialistische Beweging'). The badge naturally still retains its period-attached (3) 'attachment rings' on its back: a feature that all these (original) NAD-sportbadges show. This piece originates from an advanced collection of NSB- ie. Dutch collaboration-related items that I recently acquired for the web-site. Simply a very attractive and not that often-encountered Dutch collaborationist-item!
