Attractive - albeit regrettably single! - WH (Heeres) 'cyphered' officers'-type shoulderboard as piped in the darker-green- (ie. 'grüner'-) coloured branchcolour as was intended for an: 'Oberleutnant eines Gebirgsjäger-Regiments'
The attractive - albeit regrettably single but nevertheless scarcely found! - shoulderboard is a typical, 'text-book'-example of the Heeres-pattern, officers'-type shoulderboard and has the silverish- (ie. somewhat 'sub-dued'-type-) 'upperdeck': it was with certainty issued and worn as such and does show some moderate age, wear and/or staining (as can be seen on the pictures). The board shows the desirable darker-green- (ie. 'grüner'-) coloured branchcolour (and was constructed from the 'smooth-type' wool as to be expected). The board never had a tongue attached and was with certainty intended and worn as a board of the 'sew-in'-pattern (as can be seen on the pictures). The board measures approximately 11,7 cms. in length and shows a single (regular-sized- and bright-golden-toned) pip period-attached. The pip just minimally stained- ie. tarnished but have preserved a fine and fairly bright- (and/or quite shiny) age-patina (as can be seen on the pictures). Simply an attractive WH (Heeres) shoulderboard that belonged an: 'Oberleutnant eines Gebirgsjäger-Regiments': too bad that it is only a single specimen!
