This is an attractive - and truly scarcely encountered! - so-called: 'Truppen-Traditionsabzeichen' (or 'Plakette' as officially known per regulation) as was executed in zinc-based metal (ie. 'Feinzink') and that comes naturally mounted onto its original pin- ie. pin/catch-attachment. The badge - only sized: 2,8 x 2,2 cms. - is truly very detailed and depicts an armed eagle holding a shield and sword. The badge on offer here has never been cleaned nor polished and shows truly great and/or pronounced detail: I deem that it was with certainty worn and/or used. (A similar example of this badge is also pictured in the so-called: Heering-Hüsken-'Abzeichenkatalog' wherein it is given the unique reference-number '9813B' and wherein it is given an estimated value of 225 Eu). As possiblly known were these - actually semi-official! - badges also properly entered in both 'Wehrpass' and/or: 'Soldbuch': they also were handed-out with an official award-document. I do know that this particular badge exists in various colours: the example on offer here shows a light-blue-coloured background (as can be seen on the pictures). Simply an attractive and 'Infanterie o. Grenadiere'-related: 'Truppen-Traditionsabzeichen' that will be impossible to be upgraded!
