German (ie. Prussian- ie. 'Preussen') WWI-period- and/or zinc- ('Feinzink'-) based, so-called: 'Verdienstplakette für treue Kriegshilfe im der Provinz Sachsen' (being a non-maker-marked example that was period-mounted into a brooch)
This is an attractive - and greyish-toned- ie. zinc- ('Feinzink'-) based - so-called: 'Verdienstplakette für treue Kriegshilfe im der Provinz Sachsen' (or: commemorative plaque ie. 'Erinnerungs- o. nichttragbare Plakette') that comes period-mounted (ie. clamped) into a (genuine-silver-based) rim and that can such be worn as a brooch. The attractive piece - that has an approximate diameter of 3,8 cms. - is truly very detailed: it does show some obvious wear, age ie. staining but is totally void of any damage or alike and is truly nicely preserved. I deem that this interesting piece - that was recently uncovered in Germany - was awarded to a female recipient who proudly wore this WWI-period loyal-service award as a piece of jewellery. Simply an attractive - and in this format unusually seen! - example of a: 'Verdienstplakette für treue Kriegshilfe in der Provinz Sachsen': hard to find a better-preserved example for a more interesting price!
