This is an attractive - and most certainly scarcely encountered! - neatly hand-embroidered so-called: 'Werkschutzdienst' (or: 'WSD') arm-badge (being an example that was as presumably intended for officer- ie. 'Führer'- usage) and that comes in an overall nice- (albeit clearly used- and/or carefully tunic-removed-), condition. The oval-shaped patch (that measures approximately 9,5 x 6,5 cms.) is neatly hand-embroidered- (ie. 'Metallfaden handgestickt'-) in various types of silverish braid and is a nice example of the craftmenship employed in the days. The piece - which is additionally 'backed' with bluish-coloured paper - was carefully tunic-removed and still shows the signs of having once been tunic-attached: it is minimally damaged and shows some obvious age, wear and/or staining. Still an attractive example of a: 'Werkschutz Ärmelabzeichen für Führer' that is priced according to its minimally damaged condition: a pristine example would easily cost the double of my asking-price!
