Attractive French, 'Second Empire-period', so-called: 'Expedition to Italy'-campaign-medal (ie. 'Médaille Commémorative de l'Expédition du Italie') that comes mounted on its period-ribbon as issued

This is an attractive French, 'second Empire-period'- (ie. to be dated around 1859) so-called: 'Expedition to Italy'-campaign-medal (ie. 'Médaille Commémorative de l'Expédition du Italie' that took place in 1859) being a neat silvered example that comes mounted on its period-ribbon as issued and stored for decades. These attractive campaign-medals were instituted in 1859 and were produced by the famous French-based 'Arthus Bertrand'-company. The piece on offer here is a non-maker-marked example that retains fine, pronounced detail as to be expected: it came mounted onto its original ribbon (as can be seen on the pictures). Simply an attractive - and with certainty not that commonly encountered! - French campaign-medal!
