Attractive example of a bronze-toned, customs (ie. 'Zoll') so-called: 'Einzelspange' showing a: 'Zollgrenzschütz-Ehrenzeichen' (or customs loyal-service medal) and that has an embroidered 'Zoll'-eagle-device period-attached
This is a truly attractive - and ususually seen! - example of a darker bronze-toned, customs- (ie. 'Zoll'-) related so-called: 'Einzelspange' showing a nicely detailed: 'Zollgrenzschütz-Ehrenzeichen' (or customs loyal-service medal) that comes mounted on its confectioned, darker-blue- (ie. cornflower-blue-) coloured ribbon having an embroidered (ie. interwoven) so-called: 'Zollgrenzschütz'-eagle-device attached. The detail on this example is simply extraordinary: it has IMO never been cleaned nor polished and has an attractive and somewhat 'frosted'- (ie. minimally tarnished) age-patina. The medal is 'mounted' onto a clasp (and was once part of a larger-sized medal-bar) as was intended for wearing this example on a 'going-out'- ie. dress-tunic or 'Waffenrock'. This example truly retains gorgeous details and has a great ie. only minimally darkened- ie. tarnished age-patina: it retains all of its fairly 'glossy'- and/or: bronze- toned finish (as can be seen on the pictures). The piece is not 'backed' and was with certainty once part of a larger-sized medal-bar. The darker-blue-coloured ribbon shows only minimal usage and/or staining. It should be mentioned that it is quite unusual to find a 'Zollgrenzschütz-Ehrenzeichen' as mounted as an: 'Einzelspange'. Hard to find a more attractive example for a more interesting price!
