This is an attractive example of a WH (Luftwaffe) colourful enamelled, so-called: 'Traditions-Mützen- o. Gruppenabzeichen' being a neatly maker- (ie. 'H. Schmidt'-) marked example as was intended for usage by a member who served within an (by me) unidentified 'Luftwaffe Staffel o. Gruppe' and that comes in an overall very nice- (albeit just moderately used ie. worn-), condition. The colourful badge (which has truly immaculate enamel without showing any damage) depicts a bright-red-coloured eagle-device on a silver-coloured and/or red-rimmed background (as can be seen on the pictures). The neat shield-shaped badge - which has an approximate height of only 1,5 cms. - is executed in neat, silver-coloured- and enamelled 'Buntmetall'. The - fairly small-sized - badge comes as stated above in a very nice condition and comes naturally mounted onto its long-sized pin. It shows some minimal age ie. wear but is as stated fully undamaged and was, moreover, never cleaned nor polished (it is still a bit dirty- ie. stained). Simply an attractive - and with certainty not often- ie. rarely encountered! - Luftwaffe-related item that presumably belonged to a pilot: I deem that this particular item would merit some further investigative work!
