Attractive - albeit regrettably single - neatly 'cyphered'-, WH (Heeres) ('dress'-type) officers'-type shoulderboard, as was intended for a: 'Leutnant des Panzerjäger-Abteilungs 17'
This is an attractive - albeit regrettably single! - neatly 'cyphered'-, WH (Heeres) ('dress'-type) officers'-type shoulderboard, as was piped in the bright-pink- (ie. 'rosaroter'-) coloured branchcolour, as was intended for a: 'Leutnant des Panzerjäger-Abteilungs 17' (or lieutnant who served within the anti-tank ie. tank-destroyer unit, numbered: '17'), that comes in an overall very nice (and IMO never worn nor tunic-attached-, condition. The neat shoulderboard - which is actually hard to encounter and can IMO easily be graded 'scarce' - is constructed in the smooth-type (ie. 'moleskin'-like) wool and is per regulation piped in the (very!) bright-pink- (ie. 'rosaroter'-) coloured branchcolour. The board - which has a length of approximately 11,7 cms. - comes without tongue as found and was thus a board that was intended to be used as a so-called: 'sew-in'-type example. The board has a neat bright 'silver'-coloured (ie. 'shiny'-) 'upperdeck' (something that clearly identifies it as WH Heeres-type shoulderboard that was intended for usage on a 'dress'-type army-tunic ie. 'Waffenrock'). The board shows some minimal age ie. staining caused by years of storage only (as can be seen on the pictures). The board - which originates from a private household and was never before part of a collection - was found together with the similar-styled board that I offer under #40533: both belonged to the same officer. This example shows a (smaller-sized-) golden-toned-, Gothic-styled- so-called: 'P'-cypher and/or: '1' and/or '7'-numerals period-attached: all three devices show some minimal tarnish ie. wear but are very nicely preserved. Of additional interest is moreover the fact that the 'cyphers' were attached BEFORE the board was assembled (something that is not always the case). Simply an attractive - and desirable! - shoulderboard that belonged to a: 'Leutnant des Panzerjäger-Abteilungs 17': too bad that it is only a single example!
