This is an attractive - and actually rarely encountered! - so-called: N.S.S. (ie. 'National- socialistische Schwesternschaft' or: German nurses'-association) membership-badge as executed in genuine '800'-marked silver, as was specifically intended for: 'Lernschwester und Anwärterinnen' (trainees), that comes in an overall nice albeit clearly worn- and regrettably incomplete-, condition. The badge - being of the smaller- ie. medium-sized (ie. 32 mm. sized-) version - shows a neatly engraved bearers'-number that reads: 'L5941' (see pictures). As stated is the badge executed in genuine silver and is also accordingly '800'-marked on the back (see photos). The badge shows no real damage whatsoever: it just shows some minor scratches ie. wear-marks caused by regular wear: it regrettably misses its pin. The piece is not maker-marked but shows a neat: 'Ges.Gesch.' patent-pending mark as is more often encountered. A similar badge is also figured in the 'Heering-Hüsken' lapel-pin catalogue, were it is given a unique number (5624G) and an estimated value of 250 Eu. The badge was IMO once cleaned but still retains a nice and very detailed appearance. As stated is this the medium-sized version (having an approximate diameter of 3,2 cms.). Still a very nice and honest example of this rare badge: only the third such NSS-related badge I ever had of offer!
